April Cathleen Cornelius:Some time ago a serial child killer Freddy Krueger was burned alive by a mob of angry parents after he was freed on a technicallity. Now the teenagers of the mob are dying after horrible nightmares. This film is a classic, stylish and original straying away from the typical eighties slasher film. Wes Craven by the way used the name of the leader of the band of killers in Last House on the Left (Kreug) for the burned killer. One two Freddy's coming for you....
Dancin Squad:Truly 1 of the most Original creations in ALL of horror....da phenomenon this film started with Wes Cravens & Robert Englunds creation defined what makes a franchise... #CLASSIC
April Cathleen Cornelius:Originally titled "The Babysitter Murders" Halloween was filmed with very little money (they could only afford to pay Donald' Pleasance for 3 days). On Halloween Night 1963 a teenager and her boyfriend are murdered by her 6 year old brother. He spends the next 15 years in Smith's Grove Sanitarium. He escapes the night before Halloween to return to Haddonfield to kill his remaining sister. One of the scariest movies ever and a Halloween tradition
Dancin Squad:The Creep factor was created in this film.....No matter how silly or contrived alotta ppl tend 2 say Myers character is...da physcological study of da evil that exists inda mind cannot b ignored & there is no other film ever made dat will hav u peepin dwn dark corners more

April Cathleen Cornelius:The Lakeshore Strangler aka Charles Lee Ray hides out in a toy store where he is mortally wounded by detectives. Swearing revenge he conducts a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul in a Good Buddy doll (one of the ugliest dolls Ive ever seen) The doll is then bought by Andy Barclay's mother for his 6th birthday. When the resulting murders ensue of course they try to pin them on Andy. The scariest part of this movie is that anyone would give their child a doll that ugly. There have been four sequels. Pretty good
April Cathleen Cornelius:The old dark house in outer space. The crew of the Nostromo receive a transmission from a derelict spaceship on an unknown planetoid. They find the remains of an alien creature with its ribs forced open from the inside out. They also find dozens of eggs which release a face hugging creature that attacks one of the crew. Later at the dinner table it bursts out of the mans chest. The signal is deciphered and found to be a warning about the planetoid and aggressive alien species .Meanwhile Ripley finds that the science officer Ash has been ordered to bring the creature back to headquarters. She is attacked by Ash and he's revealed to be an android. After all the crew except for Ripley is dead the alien is finally destroyed. One of the scariest movies ever the monster effects were awesome.
Claudia Knijpinga:voor het eerst gezien toen ik 12 was op de camping, eng
April Cathleen Cornelius:One of the most influential films and voted the scariest film of all time by Entertainmant Weekly (it was third on Chiller's 100 Scariest Movie Moments) Inspired by a 1949 case and based on the novel by William Peter Blatty After finding the amulet representing Pazuzu on a dig in Iraq, Father Merrin who had defeated him once before is back. Cut to Georgetown. 12 year old Reagan becomes possessed by the demon Pazuzu who is in the Ouija board she plays with(she calls the demon Captain Howdy). After she is possessed, Reagan spews obscenties, spits pea soup masturbates with a crucifix and spider walks down the stairs. Father Merrin and Father Karras perform an exorcism in which both are killed. Awesome film just amazing.
Two sequels and two prequels follow
Dancin Squad:Words cannot described the absolute perfection of this film....It suceeds on SO many levels....mystery...reality...spirtually..azza Horror film it is miles ahead of anythng done 2day & has yet 2 b surpassed...Tru meaning of da #Classic
April Cathleen Cornelius:Probably the greatest movie ever, Jaws is based on the novel by Peter Benchley (who based it on the 1916 shark attacks at the Jersey Shore) A young woman swimming alone at night (never a good idea) is dragged under while her boyfriend is passed out on the beach. The next day her remains are found on the beach. Its very obviously a shark attack but when Chief Brody puts that on the report and wants to close the beach he's met with resistance by the mayor and the townspeople whose income depends on tourists. Another fatal attack on a young boy prompts the town to close the beach and bring in Matt Hooper from the Oceanographic institute. Also they hire local fisherman Quint to kill the shark ("I value my neck a lot more than 3000 bucks chief I'll find him for three but I'll catch him and kill him for ten") The second half of the movie finds Hooper ("This was not a boating accident") Brody and Quint out at sea to hunt the shark who has attacked again and nearly killed Brody's son. As the shark passes under the boat, you can see that its much bigger ("Youre gonna need a bigger boat") While on board Quint tells of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis and the worst shark attack in history ("1100 men went into the water 316 came out of the water sharks took the rest June the 29th 1945") Quint is killed by the shark as it tears the boat apart (at one point it drags the boat with the engines running in the opposite directions Mythbusters proved that couldnt be done in open ocean) Brody who cant swim manages to kill the shark ("Smile you son of a bitch") while Hooper is still down in the shark cage. No words can describe this the greatest movie ever
Corina Robinson:Best Classic 70's scared me when i was a kid to go into the ocean.
April Cathleen Cornelius:In 1957 a boy drowns in Camp Crystal Lake; the following year two counselors are brutally murdered while making out in a barn Flash forward to 1980. The camp is being reopened and the counselors who are setting up are being murdered by an unseen killer. The first in the series and one of my absolute favorites. A true classic
April Cathleen Cornelius:A writer and his family become off season caretakers of the Overlook hotel where they fall victim to the evil residing there and their own psychic abilities. Based on the novel by Stephen King. Very scary Very effective.
Dancin Squad:Edged out ONLY byda Exorcist...wonderfully directed, written & acted It haunts till this day...& cld possibly be the ONLY adaption of a book (def a Stephen King Book) that surpasses da orig story
April Cathleen Cornelius:In the nineties horror was a dirty word. It was "Psychological Thrillers"-FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) seeks the help of Dr.Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lector (Anthony Hopkins) in the hunt for another serial killer "Buffalo Bill" Disturbing atmospheric and scary
April Cathleen Cornelius:When eco-terrorists break into a lab to free chimps used in medical research they accidently release a "rage virus" which effectively turns the infected into zombie like killers. It spreads rapidly across England. 28 days later bike courier Jim wakes from a coma in a hospital to find everything deserted and society collapsed. This was the first movie to feature fast moving infected zombie like creatures; before this zombies were slow shambling creatures, you could easily run past them though in large groups they could overwhelm you. Though not truly "living dead" the infected were just as dangerous. Excelllent.
April Cathleen Cornelius:Based on the novel by Stephen King, Carrie tells the story of a girl who is the victim of her classmates cruel pranks and her mother's religious mania (Margaret White being played by Piper Laurie was excellent casting) When Carrie gets her first period in the shower at school, the other girls pelt her with tampons and tell her to plug it up. Bad news for the bitches because her period has triggered latent telekinetic ability. The girls are punished and Carrie sent home to her crazy mother who believes God sent the curse of blood to punish Carrie for sins real or imaginary. The ringleader of the girls wants payback. Another girl wants to atone so she has her boyfriend ask Carrie to the prom; when the ringleader finds out she decides to dump pigs blood on Carrie and Tommy at the prom after rigging the king and queen contest to have them win. When this happens Carrie unleashes her telekinetic abilities and burns the place to the ground. Her destruction of the entire town was left out of the movie due to budget constraints. Definite must see
Corina Robinson:All time best classic! They're all going to laugh a you!!
Claudia Knijpinga:deze hoef ik nooit meer te zien, bah bah ik stond de hele tyd vanuit de keuken te kijken met mn handen voor mn ogen
April Cathleen Cornelius:Very loosely based on real life necrophile Ed Gein. Tobe Hooper's 1974 classic film follows the events of August 18, 1973. After hearing of a recent series of grave robbing incidents, a group of young people come to check on the condition of their relatives graves and their family homestead. Really bad idea because living next door is the cannibalistic Sawyer clan. A really amazing film especially considering how difficult the shoot was-100+ degrees covered with caro syrup for fake blood (Gunner Hansen wasnt allowed to wash his clothes for 40 days). Also note in the scene where Leatherface (Gunner Hansen) is chasing Sally through the dark the look of terror on her face is not just acting-several times during the shoot Hansen very nearly cut her to pieces with the chainsaw as he couldnt see through the mask). The film has an almost dreamlike quality to it especially the dinner table scene. Not to be missed
Dancin Squad:The sheer INSANITY of this film has YET 2 b surpassed & bcuz of da depth of physcological horror depicted here...while dere hav been good attempts...none of the other entryies inda Franchise is evr gnna come close
April Cathleen Cornelius:Based on Robert Bloch's novel this classic tells the story of a woman in trouble. Marian Crane cant get her boyfriend Sam to marry her because of money issues so she embezzles money from her employer and runs.Panicked when police find her sleeping in her car, she takes shelter in an old motel ran by Norman Bates. He tells her its just him and Mother. Later she is stabbed to death in the shower (very stylishly filmed you see the knife and you see Janet Leigh but you never see the knife in Janet Leigh) by someone wearing a dress. Norman comes in and finds her body. Determined to protect his mother ("Oh God mother what have you done") he disposes of her body. Later Sam , Lila Crane (Vera Miles) and Detective Arbogast come looking for Marian who has been tracked to the motel. Arbogast is murdered and Lila finds Mrs Bates's mummified corpse in the fruit cellar. Norman killed his mother and kept her body down there and at times dressed up as her to murder "whores filthy whores" The novel was loosely based on Ed Gein the butcher of Plainfield Wisconsin who lived 40 miles away from Bloch. This was such an important film in the slasher subgenre (American slasher films generally were based either on Ed Gein or Alexander "Sawney" Bean). A 1998 shot for shot remake was done but in no way matched the sheer intensity of this classic. Three sequels followed
April Cathleen Cornelius:This was George Romero's nod to mall culture and a sequel to Night of the Living Dead. Survivors have barricaded themselves in the Monroeville Mall as the dead rise and feast on the living. One of the best zombie apocalypse movies ever with green skinned slow-moving zombies who occasionally walk into helicopter blades sheering off the top of their heads. An alternate ending was filmed with the two surviving characters Peter and Fran committing suicide(Peter by gunshot and Fran by driving her head into helicopter blades) I prefer the other ending better; it implies hope with Fran and Peter flying off to face the future.
April Cathleen Cornelius:Two American backpackers leave a village pub and head out on the moors where they are attacked by a creature. Jack is killed but David survives. Bad news for him because what attacked them was a werewolf. Everyone knows if you are bitten by a werewolf and survive you become a werewolf. His dead friend Jack visits in dreams where he decays more and more and informs him that he's going to turn at the next full moon. And turn he does in probably the best most painful looking transformation Ive ever seen.Guess he should have listened to the guys in the pub who warned them to keep to the road. One of the best werewolf films ever made . A classic
April Cathleen Cornelius:Absolute classic by Sam Raimi When Spring Breakers spent the weekend in a cabin in the mountains of Tennessee they find the Sumerian version of the book of the dead. Like countless idiots in horror films, they read from the book and play a tape of demonic incantations releasing the demons who possess them. Very gory and stylish film one of the greatest ever made
April Cathleen Cornelius:Opening with the best montage ever, F13 TFC begins with the cleanup of the massacre from part 3. Jason's body is taken to the morgue where a late night makeout session revives him . He escapes after killing the two morgue attendants and heads back to Crystal Lake. He sets his murderous sites on the Jarvis family and the house next door rented by drunken college kids.Corey Feldman was amazing as Tommy Jarvis who was kind of an homage to Tom Savini. The original screenplay was to have Tommy shove a homemade microwave rheostat into Jason's skull cooking from the inside until it explodes; since they wanted to leave it open they went with the machete. The character Tommy Jarvis would appear in two more films. I really enjoyed this one You will too
Melissa Collins:You don't want to go camping after watching this!
Dancin Squad:Out of all the entries inda Franchise i believe da most generally frightning 1......established da Hockey Mask azz an Iconic symbol of Horror & destruction
April Cathleen Cornelius:Semi remake of 1951 classic The Thing From Another World this version remains true to the novella "Who Goes There?" by John Campbell Jr and was the inspiration for the 1951 version. The Thing in question is an alien life form which turns itself into its victim and then imitates it perfectly. It infiltrates an arctic research center spreading paranoia amongst the researchers. John Carpenter considers this film part of his Apocalypse trilogy (with Prince of Darkness and In the Mouth of Madness though the three films are unrelated) Extremely scary and unnerving
Dancin Squad:1 of the most frighteningly visceral films ever made
Hayden Howe:Whereas this film cannot match the CGI effects of the modern day horror films, It is by far one of the greatest and scariest films I have ever seen. The amazing thing about this film is how the effects work so well for its time. To this day, I puzzle over how the film makers could do this. The blood test intrigued me greatly. I wonder how the blood popped out of the petri dish and crawled away to boot. And so I am again forced to say that we always overlook the films that lit the way to modern day horror.
April Cathleen Cornelius:A big friendly dog chases a rabbit into a hole which is actually a cave. He is bitten by a bat. Now rabid, this dog turns into a monster, trapping a woman and child in a car. With no way out in hundred degree heat will they survive? Based on the novel by Stephen King
